It can also be passed<br \/>\nthrough sex from a person who has Zika virus infection to his or her partner. A pregnant woman can<br \/>\npass Zika virus to her fetus during pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>Zika virus infection during pregnancy is <strong>still a threat<\/strong>\u00a0to mothers and babies. Babies born to mothers with Zika virus infection during pregnancy can have adverse outcomes, such as microcephaly and other severe brain and central nervous system defects.
