The Emergency Preparedness and Response Programs involve state, regional and local emergency response partners working together to enhance readiness to respond to bioterrorism, infectious disease outbreaks and other public health emergencies. Funding to support these efforts is provided through grants from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Health Resources Services Administration and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/lord-fairfax\/vital-records\/\"><strong>Vital Records<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each site provides acknowledgement of paternity (adding father\u2019s information to birth certificates); applications and certified copies for Virginia birth, death, and marriage certificates<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Medicaid Screening (EPSDT)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medicaid recipients up to age eighteen can receive routine physical examinations and screenings at their local health department.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/lord-fairfax\/community-health\/\"><strong>Population Health and Outreach<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public health staff is available to answer your health questions through your local health department. They also are available to speak to community organizations, schools, youth groups, and churches. Reference materials, informative pamphlets, and literature can also be obtained through your public health department.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/lord-fairfax\/medical-reserve-corps\/\">Lord Fairfax Medical Reserve Corps (LFMRC)<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of volunteers who possess diverse backgrounds, training, and skillsets to augment public health emergency response efforts. MRC volunteers stand ready to support ongoing public health initiatives and health emergencies by contributing both medical and non-medical general support to improve and protect the health and safety of their communities.
