{"id":1192,"date":"2022-05-03T13:05:47","date_gmt":"2022-05-03T13:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/central-virginia\/?page_id=1192"},"modified":"2022-09-12T18:48:33","modified_gmt":"2022-09-12T18:48:33","slug":"long-term-services-support-ltss","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/central-virginia\/communityhealthimprovement\/long-term-services-support-ltss\/","title":{"rendered":"Long Term Services Support (LTSS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff\">WHAT IS LONG TERM SERVICES SUPPORT (LTSS)?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The LTSS program is a Medicaid-funded program covering in-home care, PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), adult day care and nursing homes.\u00a0 Program participants are able to use one or multiple of the available services.\u00a0 LTSS&#8217;s goal is to keep program participants in their homes as long as possible.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff\">WHO IS ELIGIBLE?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Anyone is eligible for the LTSS program as long as they are at a nursing home-level of care.\u00a0 Participants must meet one of the following requirements: need assistance for functional daily living activities, have an ongoing medical nursing need, or be in need of or at risk of needing to be placed in a nursing home within 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone can request a screening for themselves or for a family member or friend, but the individual must be willing to complete the screening.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff\">IS THERE A COST?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There is no cost for the initial screening, but an eligible participant must be enrolled in Medicaid to participate in the program.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong>HOW DO I MAKE A REFERRAL OR GET MORE INFORMATION?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you are making a referral for a child, please call the Central Virginia Health District at (434)-477-5900.<\/p>\n<p>If you are making a referral for an adult, contact your <a href=\"https:\/\/dss.virginia.gov\/localagency\/index.cgi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local Department of Social Services<\/a> office for a screening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WHAT IS LONG TERM SERVICES SUPPORT (LTSS)?
