Birth records can be issued to the legal guardian with proof of custody papers. Aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, etc. cannot obtain a Vital Record.<\/p>\n<p>All Vital records can also be obtained from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/vital-records\/\">Virginia Department of Health, Division of Vital Records<\/a>, <strong data-ogsc=\"\" data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">8701 Park Central Dr, Suite 100, <\/strong><strong data-ogsc=\"\">Richmond, VA 23227<\/strong>. The general information number is 804-662-6200.<\/p>\n<p>Copies of marriage licenses can also be obtained from your county Clerk\u2019s\u00a0Office.<\/p>\n<h2>Death Certificates<\/h2>\n<p>Death certificates can be filed at, and certified copies obtained from any local department in the State of Virginia, regardless of where the death occurred in the State of Virginia. However, if it has been less than 30 days since the filing of death, then the death certificate must be obtained from the city or county in which the death was originally filed.\u00a0 Certified copies of death certificates are available upon request to those persons eligible to receive them.<\/p>\n<h2>Fees<\/h2>\n<p>The fee for a vital record is $12.00 for each certificate, copy and\/or search of a vital record.\u00a0 Cash, check, money orders, VISA or Mastercard are accepted.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Receive this Service:<\/h2>\n<p>Vital Records services of the Central Shenandoah Health District is open each day Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 12:00PM and 1:00PM to 4:00PM.<em>\u00a0<strong>A Valid ID is required when obtaining ANY Vital Record.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Certified copies of birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates can be obtained at these Central Shenandoah Health District locations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bath County Health Department<\/li>\n<li>Harrisonburg-Rockingham Health Department<\/li>\n<li>Highland County Health Department<\/li>\n<li>Lexington-Rockbridge Health Department<\/li>\n<li>Staunton-Augusta Health Department<\/li>\n<li>Waynesboro-Augusta Health Department<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Certified copies of birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates can be obtained from the Central Shenandoah Health District health departments for any of these events as long as they occurred [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":616,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2698","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
