{"id":2600,"date":"2025-01-29T14:20:26","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T19:20:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/central-shenandoah\/?page_id=2600"},"modified":"2026-03-18T13:26:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-18T17:26:40","slug":"maternal-child-health","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/central-shenandoah\/maternal-child-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Maternal &#038; Child Health"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pl-2600\"  class=\"panel-layout\" ><div id=\"pg-2600-0\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-2600-0-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-2600-0-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_text panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"0\" >\t\t\t<div class=\"textwidget\"><p>for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/central-shenandoah\/wic\/\">WIC page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Car Seat Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CSHD&#8217;s Car Seat Safety Program offers free car seats to those who meet certain eligibility requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To apply for the program, applicants must be<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligible for Medicaid ,WIC, FAMIS or qualify by income<\/li>\n<li>A resident of one of the following localities*: Augusta County, Bath County, Buena Vista, Harrisonburg, Highland County, Lexington, Rockbridge County, Rockingham County, Staunton, Waynesboro. *<em>U.S. citizenship is not required<\/em><\/li>\n<li>If pregnant, in the last three months of pregnancy<\/li>\n<li>A Parent, legal guardian or foster parent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply, please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/central-shenandoah\/contact-us\/\">call or visit your local health department<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Alternatively, individuals can also request to participate in the car seat distribution program through an online self-referral form. <a href=\"https:\/\/redcap.vdh.virginia.gov\/redcap\/surveys\/?s=LA7YF83XNF87PFHD\">Access the form here<\/a>. Please submit documents to verify your eligibility for the program.
